David Chew to speak at IWIRC seminar in Hong Kong on DIP financing
DHC Capital Partner and Founder David Chew will participate in the panel session, “Singapore’s DIP Financing regime: Boom time for lenders when debtors go bust?” at the IWIRC networking seminar in Hong Kong on Tuesday 14 November 2017. Also on the panel are Tan Mei Yen (Partner, Wong Partnership), Ashley Bell (Partner, DLA Piper), Michael Phillip (Director, CarVal Investors) and Stefan White (Portfolio Manager, LIM Advisors).
The panel session will discuss Singapore’s recently implemented framework for Debtor-In-Possession (“DIP”) financing, including how it can affect Hong Kong creditors, whose debtors make filings in Singapore for DIP financing. DIP financing allows a new or existing creditor with court approval to provide senior-secured funding over and above all incumbent lenders as a last resort to help a company avoid going bust as it tries to sort out its problems. Will DIP financing be the next big thing in the Asian corporate distress scene, especially with the enhanced restructuring framework in Singapore?
This seminar follows on from the successful IWIRC panel seminar held in Singapore on 21 September 2017. For further information, please click here.
Special thanks to sponsor and host, DLA Piper.
