David Chew attends the Singapore Insolvency Conference
David Chew attended the 6th annual Singapore Insolvency Conference held at Marina Bay Sands Expo and Convention Centre on 24 and 25 August 2017. David was a member of the Organising Committee and assisted in the preparation of the sessions titled “Alternative capital providers/distressed investors in restructuring situations with a focus on the role, opportunities and challenges/issues faced by distressed investors”.
The flagship Singapore Insolvency Conference 2017 builds on the success of the past 5 annual National and Regional Insolvency Conferences. The conference is jointly organised by the Law Society of Singapore and the Insolvency Practitioners Association of Singapore.
Keynote speakers included Minister for Home Affairs and Minister for Law Mr K Shanmugam, Honourable Justice Kannan Ramesh and Honourable Judicial Commissioner Aedit Abdullah.
Master class sessions included:
1. Cross-border restructuring in Indonesia and Singapore’s role
2. Cross-border restructuring in China and Singapore’s role
3. Restructuring of bond debt
4. Restructuring and insolvency in the offshore oil & gas and marine sector
