David is a Partner at DHC Capital.
David has over 27 years of experience in restructuring, turnaround, interim management and corporate finance as an advisor with Ernst & Young and Arthur Andersen, investment banker with Morgan Stanley, in senior management as a Chief Restructuring Officer (CRO), Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and interim CFO and Board member to distressed companies.
David has worked for and advised private and publicly listed corporates, bank creditors, bond holders, alternative capital providers and distressed investors across the full range of the restructuring transaction cycle, including crisis stabilisation, business, strategic and cash flow reviews, debt restructuring and schemes of arrangement, operational restructuring and turnaround, liquidity management initiatives, distressed M&A, rescue financing, refinancing and recapitalisations, distressed and special situations investing and board and interim management appointments.
David has been at the forefront of multiple “market first” restructuring transactions involving schemes of arrangement and innovative “new money” solutions including rescue financing, private credit and accelerated M&A in the region. These transactions include the first two successfully completed US$1 billion schemes of arrangement in Singapore under the Insolvency, Restructuring and Dissolution Act, the first and three subsequent “pre-packaged” schemes of arrangement in Singapore under Section 71 of the Insolvency, Restructuring and Dissolution Act, the first “pre-packaged” scheme of arrangement in Singapore under the Simplified Debt Restructuring Programme, the first three super priority rescue financings in Singapore under Section 211E of the Companies Act (now Section 67 of the Insolvency, Restructuring and Dissolution Act), first interim management appointment for a company undergoing a Court supervised scheme process under Section 211B of the Companies Act (now Section 64 of the Insolvency, Restructuring and Dissolution Act) and first major tech sector distressed M&A transaction.
David has lived and worked in Singapore, Hong Kong, Australia and Brunei. He has transaction experience across Asia Pacific, including transactions in Australia, Brunei, China, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam and across multiple sectors including, manufacturing, construction, mining and metals, oil & gas, technology, food & beverage, real estate, retail, tourism and leisure and shipping.
As an investment banker, David was involved in the sourcing, structuring and execution of high yield, stressed and distressed investment opportunities across Asia Pacific for Morgan Stanley prop books.

Prosafe SE (OSX: PRS; Oil & gas sector) – Acted as Chairman of the scheme meeting and Scheme Manager for US$1.1 billion scheme of arrangement involving debt for equity conversion and parallel Norwegian reconstruction process and is one of the largest debt restructurings in Singapore enacted under the Insolvency, Restructuring and Dissolution Act 2018 (and its predecessor laws). The transaction was nominated for Restructuring Deal of the Year 2022 by IFLR Asia Pacific

Viking Offshore and Marine Ltd (SGX: 557; Oil & gas sector) – Debt restructuring and recapitalisation involving senior lender debt settlement, "pre-packaged" scheme of arrangement involving a debt for equity conversion and new equity injection. Role included appointment as independent financial advisor and as Scheme Manager
iflix Pte Ltd (Tech sector) – “Pre-packaged” scheme of arrangement for purposes of debt restructuring. Role included appointment as independent financial advisor and as Scheme Manager. First “pre-packaged” scheme of arrangement under Section 71 of the Insolvency, Restructuring and Dissolution Act. The pre-packaged scheme was implemented together with a parallel corporate voluntary arrangement (CVA) in Malaysia as part of a broader iflix Group restructuring
Pacific International Lines (Pte) Ltd (Shipping sector) – Acted as Chairman of the scheme meeting and Scheme Manager for US$1 billion scheme of arrangement. The scheme of arrangement is part of a comprehensive debt restructuring and recapitalisation plan involving a US$600 million capital injection from Temasek linked fund, Heliconia Capital Management and is one of the largest debt restructurings in Singapore enacted under the Insolvency, Restructuring and Dissolution Act 2018 (and its predecessor laws). The transaction was nominated for Restructuring Deal of the Year 2022 by IFLR Asia Pacific
KrisEnergy Ltd (SGX: SK3; Oil and gas sector) – Nominated as Independent Assessor for US$270 million debt restructuring and scheme of arrangement to review disputes in respect of the admission or rejection of proofs of debt filed by scheme creditors
